What Our Clients Are Saying
Meredith
I just wanted to share with you (and thank you!) that the public speaking training we did is still paying dividends. This past weekend my cousin got married and I was the maid of honor. So many people complimented me for not needing to use notes, actually speaking clearly with the microphone, and getting through the entire thing without an ummmm.
During almost every other toast the speaker would hold the microphone away and you couldn’t even hear what they were saying. Anyways, I just wanted to thank you again because I definitely put your training into practice as when I found myself getting nervous I would take the time to use a pause for impact.

In the two years that I worked with Maryalicia, I found both her skills and commitment exceptional. I often had occasion to read her printed work product, which ranged from press releases to national magazine articles, and were unfailingly of excellent quality. Maryalicia frequently appeared on television and radio programs, providing communication regarding the agency’s mission. In this capacity, she also coached staff in their media appearances, putting them at ease as they shared their expertise.
In the course of her work. Maryalicia was often called upon to respond to media at short notice or to coordinate a television event at very early or late hours. She was consistently able to meet these and other deadlines with a positive attitude. Her hard-working sense of responsibility made her successful at all aspects of her employment.
I would unconditionally recommend Maryalicia Johnson.
Richard Stilp, Director Central Florida Fire Academy
To Whom it May Concern, I am writing this letter of recommendation for Ms Maryalicia Johnson. I’ve known Ms Johnson for over 20 years. Over the last 20 years I’ve worked for her on a number of projects and in more recent years she has brought her expertise to the Fire Academy to share during her Public Information Officer class.
Over the past four years Ms Johnson has been a guest instructor at the Academy providing a Fire Officer Certification course called Public Information Officer (PIO). Ms Johnson brings a lot of experience into the classroom. Not only does she teach our students how to respond appropriately to the news media but she also insists that each student gets real experience in front of the camera.
During the class a news style studio is set up at the Academy and each student is recorded answering tough questions presented to them by the media. Not only is the class informative but it is also fun and provides the students with the skills necessary to represent their fire departments professionally and in a positive manner. Because of her expertise we have earned the reputation of providing the finest PIO class in Central Florida.
Over the years I have found Maryalicia to have an outstanding work ethic, she is reliable, a strong team builder, and has wonderful moral and ethical standards.
Wayne Humphrey, YMCA Vice President, Government/Community Relations
I am pleased to communicate that I have worked professionally with Maryalicia Johnson, Senior Media Relations Director, Spokesperson, YMCA of Central Florida for the past five years. Her quality of work and professional capacity to achieve the work of media relations is stellar.
Across the years, for which I have known her, she has performed above standard in both written and electronic media getting the stories of the YMCA to the citizenry and the leadership of the community on the critical value of the YMCA’s impact on education (academic achievement) children’s health, youth sports, youth and family development and social responsibility.
These all-important 21st Century issues were made much clearer to the public as a result of Ms. Johnson’s quality of work and high professional standards of journalism and media relations.
Therefore, whatever endeavor Ms. Johnson initiates in furthering her academic and professional career I am honored and delighted to tender this recommendation as she goes forward in the future.
Rick Daigneault, Health Services Administrator, Orange County MEdical Clinic
It has been a pleasure to be acquainted with Maryalicia Johnson for the past three years in her capacity for the Central Florida YMCA as Sr. Director for Public Relations & Media and as a public relations consultant to an organization which I Chair, the Central Florida Drowning Prevention and Water Safety Coalition.
Ms Johnson is a dynamic public relations professional. Her role as a public relations professional often entails guiding busy executives through the maze and traps of public and media relations. Maryalicia does this with aplumb. She is charming, patient and has an ability to bring order to situations which could be unruly. I have found Maryalicia to be an extremely able writer, speaker, event producer and media consultant.
Over the years Maryalicia has enthusiastically assisted our Coalition and we continue to seek out her knowledge, organizational skills and sensitivity in dealing with diverse groups of people.
The qualities that Maryalicia demonstrates in her role in public relations are also core qualities for success in graduate school. Maryalicia Johnson has my highest recommendation to graduate school. I believe in the future she will become an asset to your school.
